Style inspiration: The new It girls

It would seem that fashion bloggers are the new It girls - girls with killer style, the smarts to run incredibly popular blogs and the nous to look on trend without being a fashion victim.

PublikMode aims to catalogue the best of the online fashion world - up next, we've got Zanita.

Ah, Zanita! A fellow Aussie in this increasingly global sphere, she's got wicked style and a great look that harks back to the days of the Supers in the 80s and 90s. Zanita is making a name for herself globally as a model to watch and is also the author a killer eponymous blog. Zanita joins us for a quick Q&A.

PM: Where is home for you?

Z: Sydney is my home now, but my family live in Esperance, Western Australia so a part of me is there too.

Do you work? Study? What takes up your time?

I work as a model fulltime.

How long have you been blogging for?

5 or 6 months

Where do you take your style inspiration from? Who are your style icons? Do you have a fashion muse?

I love Chloe Sevign y but I take my inspiration from everywhere, magazines, fashion shows, other bloggers.

With the last FW season in mind - Dries Van Noten, Nina Ricci, Julian MacDonald.

Whose closet would you most like to raid?

Claudia Schiffer - she has a aircraft hanger full of clothes dating back her entire career!!!

Where do you like to shop?

I always shop on my way to and from castings so alot of my clothes I happen upon by chance. I love to shop along Crown St in Surry Hills.

Fave city in the world?

Tokyo, it's the most exciting and surprising city I've ever been to. Like another planet.

What colour would best describe your personality?

I have to choose only one colour! I think right now its melon.... maybe tomorrow it could be something else.

Tell me about a typical day in your life:

Wake up, eat breakfast, work out, get ready for either work or castings, jump on public transport and scoot around the city, come home, have dinner.

Do you follow an exercise or diet regime?

I try not to eat gluten, get plenty of fruit and vegetables but I dont really like to be to strict on my diet because I'm very fond of variety. I eat alot of vegetarian meals even though im not vego, I just prefer it. I do an hour of cardio about 4-5 times a week. Its just what works for me.

How do you maintain your skin?

I use a heavy moisturiser and gentle cleanser because I have dry skin. I also use Nimue exfoliating enzyme three times a week which is an amazing product.

What are you listening to/reading/watching now? What are your hobbies?

Im reading books by Margaret Atwood and the last movies I watched that I really enjoyed were I'm Not There, Religulous, The Wackness and Cry Baby.

Style inspiration: Charlotte Gainsbourg, Lou Doillon and Jane Birkin

Seriously, is it legal for three women from the same family to be so damn attractive?
Charlotte & Lou are the daughters of the actress/singer/francophile Jane Birkin (yep, Hermes named the Birkin bag after her!).
She was, and is, a total spunk, and her girls inherited her good looks and innate style.

I love love love Chole's style - she's hot, has no fear, and always manages to look, at the very least, well...interesting! And when she goes glam, wow, she just nails it.
She reminds me of a young Goldie Hawn sometimes too...
I wish I could sneak into her closet and steal a bunch of stuff - she inspires my inner klepto! :)
